2017 'Women of Distinction' honored at ceremony

It was a true "A Night to Remember" as the Republican Women of Cape Coral, Federated hosted their inaugural Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony at the Lake Kennedy Senior Center this past Friday evening.

During the sold-out ceremony, six area women were honored for their contribution to the community and providing a role model for the empowerment of women in everyday life.

In addition to giving out the six Women of Distinction Awards, the organization also honored one as the 2017 Woman of the Year.

Council Member Leon to host April 10 town hall in Council Chambers

Cape Coral District 4 City Council Member Richard Leon will host a town hall meeting tonight in Council Chambers at City Hall.

The meeting is open to the public to discuss any city issues or concerns. 

Leon's meeting will be the first of a series of revolving monthly town hall meetings at City Hall for city council members.

Fellow council members Rana Erbrick and Jessica Cosden have both committed to holding town hall meetings in council chambers with Erbrick's scheduled in May and Cosden's in June.
