CCPD Traffic Enforcement Update (Feb. 21)

The Cape Coral Police Department Traffic Unit is providing this notice as part of their continuing efforts to increase traffic safety awareness and education.

These daily notices (Monday-Friday) will identify possible locations that the department are conducting enforcement operations and results from the previous day's operation.

All is being done by the department to emphasize the importance of obeying traffic laws to reduce traffic crashes, injuries, and deaths on our roads here in Cape Coral.

City sets up direct links to report unlicensed contractors

Cape Coral’s Code Compliance Division is now providing direct links for those looking to report unlicensed contractors and unpermitted construction work. 

The Code Department has established a dedicated phone number and email address that citizens can use to alert the City to suspected illegal contracting and construction activity.

The phone number is (239) 242-3783, and the email is unlicensed@capecoral.net.

SCHEA set to host South Cape Mardi Gras Trolley Event this weekend

For those who cannot make the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans this year, the South Cape Hospitality & Entertainment Associations is bringing the Cajun festival to Cape Coral as they host their fourth annual South Cape Mardi Gras Trolley Event.

The event will take place this Saturday, February 25 from 7:00pm to 11:00pm.

During the evening participants will travel by trolley to 12 of the South Cape's premier nightspots. Each stop on the route will feature Mardi Gras specialty drinks for just $2.50.

Oasis Elementary School students set to perform 'Annie Jr.' Feb. 22-24

Students and teachers at Oasis Elementary Charter School are gearing up for their annual concert, scheduled to take place February 22-24.

After months of preparation, nearly 60 third through fifth-grade students will take the stage to perform Annie Jr.

The performance is an abbreviated version of the hit musical Annie and will feature many of the famous songs from the play and will feature a full set with the kids in full costume.

Cape Coral Police announce February 2017 Do The Right Thing winners

On Wednesday, February 15, the Cape Coral Police Department held their monthly 2016-2017 Do The Right Thing Awards ceremony at City Hall.

The department recognized ten Cape Coral students who were nominated for their recent actions that had a positive impact on the community.

The department hosts the ceremony each month during the school year to honor local students for going above and beyond in their everyday life to "do the right thing."
