South Cape Craft Beer Trolley Event scheduled for this Sat., Apr. 29

The South Cape Hospitality & Entertainment Associations (SCHEA) will host their inaugural South Cape Craft Beer Trolley Event this Saturday, April 29.

Enjoy an evening in the South Cape with over 1,000 of your friends, family, and neighbors, all while enjoying the latest craft beers at some of Cape Coral's hottest night spots.

During the event, attendees will board the exclusive trolleys to visit 12 locations in the city's entertainment district. At each stop, there will be a sample craft beer and appetizer to enjoy.

City to host 26th annual Arbor Day Tree Planting Celebration, Apr. 28

The City of Cape Coral’s Parks and Recreation Department will host the 26th Annual Arbor Day Tree Planting Celebration on Friday, April 28.

The event will begin at 11:00am and take place Sirenia Vista Park, located at 3916 Ceitus Parkway. 

Several trees donated by the City and LCEC will be planted at the environmental park.Th e public is invited to attend.

On Monday evening, the city council and the city's municipal charter school authority governing board held their second joint meeting of the year at City Hall.

The focus of the latest meeting was to review recommended best practices created by city staff in hopes of creating a long term sustainablity for the school system while addressing the recent financial concerns brought forward in a recent analysis report.The meeting had its share of emotional moments and candid conversations as tempers boiled over at times during the meeting.

Cape Coral in Pictures: Cape Coral Cardboard Boat Regatta 2017

On Saturday, April 22, the Rotary Club of Cape Coral held its annual Cape Coral Cardboard Boat Regatta at Four Freedoms Park.

Despite a drizzly, overcast day, thousands came out once again to cheer on from the park's beach, as over 20 boats made their way through the Bimini Basin.

Using only cardboard, tape, paint, and a few other materials, boat builders once again amazed those in attendance with their creations.

This year's cardboard creations featured a myriad of designs and concepts including; a pirate ship, a giraffe, a Willy Wonka inspired boat, and much more.
