CCPD Traffic Enforcement Update (May 11)

The Cape Coral Police Department Traffic Unit is providing this notice as part of their continuing efforts to increase traffic safety awareness and education.

These daily notices (Monday-Friday) will identify possible locations that the department are conducting enforcement operations and results from the previous day's operation.

All is being done by the department to emphasize the importance of obeying traffic laws to reduce traffic crashes, injuries, and deaths on our roads here in Cape Coral.

PWC Aqua Challenge set to make its return June 10

Last summer, a new, unique, event made its debut in Cape Coral.

Called the See-Doo Challenge, jet skiers took to the waters of the waters of the Caloosahatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico traveling from place to place collecting poker cards participating in a what can best be described as a nautical twist on the familiar motorcycle poker run concept.

The idea proved to be a success as over 60 participants on nearly 50 jet skis participated in the inaugural event.

Yacht Club boat ramp to be closed Saturday morning for triathlon

The Yacht Club boat ramp will be closed Saturday, May 13 to accommodate the annual Cape Coral Sprint Triathlon.

The boat ramp will be closed from 6:00am to 9:00am. The park and access roads will remain open. 

As an alternative during those hours on Saturday, the City of Cape Coral is encouraging boaters to use the Horton Park boat ramp, located at 2600 SE 26th Place, or the Rosen Park boat ramp, located at 2414 SE 15th Terrace.

Erbrick to host town hall meeting in Council Chambers tonight, May 8

Cape Coral District Five City Council Member Rana Erbrick is scheduled to host a town hall meeting tonight at city hall.

The town hall meeting will take place inside council chambers.

Erbrick's meeting is the latest in a series of town hall meetings scheduled by council members held at city hall.

Fire Station temporarily closed for remodeling

The Cape Coral Fire Department announced on Friday, that for the next 10 days, Cape Coral Fire Station 7, due to a remodeling project.

Fire Station 7 is located at 3942 Burnt Store Rd. and covers the extreme northwest part of the city, including Burnt Store Marina.

The firefighters, ladder truck, and brush truck housed at that station have moved to a temporary location in the district. The department says service to the citizens in the area will not be affected and firefighters will still be available as usual to respond to emergency calls.
