Below are five events taking place across Cape Coral this weekend.
Gathering of the Giants 2017 (Saturday-Sunday)
Cape Coral’s R/Sea Hawks will host its annual Gathering of the Giants at its airfield in Northwest Cape Coral this Saturday and Sunday.
Every year, the event brings an impressive array of radio controlled airplanes, jets, helicopters, and more by pilots from all over the country.
This year will feature nearly 50 radio controlled devices, who are scheduled to take to the air over the two-day event performing flips, turns, and other acrobatics that always leave those in attendance impressed.
In addition to the dozens of planes and helicopters, those who attend will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the machines and their pilots to learn more about this exciting hobby.
Attendees will also have the chance to go home with their own radio controlled plane, as the club will raffle off a ready to fly 1/5 scale 188 AG Cessna RC Plane with a wing span of 97" and length of 62", equipped with a Moki Gas 30cc engine.
There will also be activities for children, including the always popular candy drop.
Gathering of the Giants will take place this Saturday and Sunday, March 11 and 12. Saturday hours are 9:00am to 4:00pm. Sunday hours are 9:00am t0 3:00pm. The event will be held at Sea Hawk Airpark, located at 1030 NW 28th St., Cape Coral.
The club is asking for a $5 donation per car for admission to the event.

CAT Country's 3rd Annual Big Ol' Bonfire Concert featuring Rodney Atkins (Saturday)
This Saturday, CAT Country 107.1 will host its third annual Big Ol' Bonfire at Sun Splash Waterpark.
Headlining this year's event is Country Music star, Rodney Atkins.
Rounding out the concert lineup will be Trent Harmon and Adam Craig.
In addition to the music, there will also be food and drink vendors serving during the event.
Tickets for the 2017 Big Ol' Bonfire are $15 for general admission and $25 for reserved seating.
General admission ticket holders are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets. Outside food, beverages, and pets are not permitted at the concert.
Tickets are available for purchase online or at Dixie Roadhouse (1023 SE 47th Terr., Cape Coral), the City of Cape Coral's Parks & Recreation office (1015 Cultural Park Blvd. Cape Coral), or iHeartMedia offices (13320 Metro Pkwy. #1, Fort Myers).
The 2017 Big Ol' Bonfire takes place this Saturday, March 11 at Sun Splash Waterpark, located at 400 Santa Barbara Blvd. Doors open at 5:30pm and the concert is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm.

Celebrate Spring with "Team Friends"- Maurice LoMonaco in Concert (Thursday)
This Thursday, March 9, “Team Friends” will host their annual Relay for Life fundraiser concert at Faith Presbyterian Church.
This year’s concert marks the return of internationally acclaimed singer Maurice LoMonaco.
LoMonaco has performed at concerts, festivals, theaters and other venues around the world.
He is a classically influenced singer/songwriter with an expansive repertoire and can sing in five different languages. His music and his
voice captures the hearts of everyone who hears him.

Money raised from the event will go toward the 2017 Cape Coral Relay For Life.

New Orleans Burlesque Dinner Show at Dixie Roadhouse (Friday)
Dixie Roadhouse will host their first international burlesque show this Friday evening.
The event will feature professional burlesque performers from New Orleans, Europe, Miami, and beyond.
In addition to the entertainment, there will also be a three-course New Orleans style dinner for only $8. This dinner includes your choice of lobster bisque or chicken and sausage gumbo, a choice of chicken and andouille jambalaya, crawfish+shrimp+crabmeat etouffee, or fried oyster po'boy, and your choice of red velvet donuts or bread pudding.
Dixie will also have their full menu available with prices ranging from $4 to $9.
The fun takes place this Friday, March 10 at Dixie Roadhouse, located at 1023 SE 47th Terrace. Doors open at 6:00pm. The burlesque show begins at 7:30pm.

Wicked Dolphin's 1950's Decades Party: Shelterhouse Rock (Saturday)
Go back to 1950's America as Wicked Dolphin Distillery hosts its annual "Decades Party."
This year, the theme is the 1950's. Enjoy an evening of sock hops, drive-Ins, Hula Hoops, Poodle Skirts, 45 rpms, hot rods, jukeboxes, The Twist and plenty of music to shake, rattle, and roll to throughout the night.
This themed event will be a night of costume, cocktails, food, music, contest and fun with proceeds going to the Cape Coral Animal Shelter. Dress in era attire or dress like your favorite icon.
$75 is the ticket to enjoying an evening of heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts from well-known area restaurants, music, and entertainment, cash bar, contests to win prizes, dancing, silent and live auctions and more.
