CCCIA Builders Showcase of Homes kicks off this weekend
This Friday, the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association (CCCIA) will kick off its annual Builders Showcase of Homes.
Throughout the next three weekends, people are invited to tour 35 model homes across Cape Coral from 31 of the area's premier home builders.
The models in this year's showcase range in price starting from mid $200,000's and going to over $3,000,000, ensuring that all who attend can find a home to meet their needs.
In addition to the wide range of price, the models also feature an array of amenities featuring today's cutting edge technology and design, "Smart homes are becoming more and more part of today's new homes. It is getting to the point that you can control you home from your phone, the level of sophistication is insane, and many of the models in this year's showcase have those capabilities," says CCCIA Executive Director Bill Johnson, Jr.
In addition to smart homes, Johnson says builders are now putting specific emphasis on the outside of the home, "Outdoor living is becoming more and more part of a home. Your pool is no longer just for swimming. It has become the centerpiece of an outdoor lifestyle that can include an outside kitchen and bar, fireplace, a TV, and more. It is amazing to see some of the creations outside the walls of these homes."
Many of the homes and the builders were rewarded for their hard work and ingenuity last week, as this year's showcase officially got under way Thursday evening at the annual Builders Showcase Awards Ceremony held at Cape Cabaret.
During the evening, awards were presented to builders in different categories including the 2017 Builders Showcase Top Honors, which went to Koogler Homes for their model "The Bluefin Bay."
In addition to the Top Honors, awards were handed out in a number of different price categories. The overall price category winners were;
Over $1,500,000 – The Bluefin Bay by Koogler Homes
Specialty Category winners were:
Best Overall Interior Design - Lori Manning Designs- The La Palma II by Tundra Homes
As impressive as the winners and their homes were at the ceremony, it was the high turnout of attendees that reflected the upswing the building industry is currently experiencing. This year, over 200 attended the awards ceremony showing that the local construction industry is continuing to rebound from the recent down years experienced nationwide, particularly here in Southwest Florida, "The turnout not only at the ceremony but, the number of builders we have participating in this year's showcase is a true testament to where our industry is today and heading in the future. Things are finally starting to show great signs of improvement," says Johnson.
While both the strong turnout for the awards ceremony and high number of participating builders has Johnson feeling positive about the industry's future, it is the range of homes in the 2017 Builders Showcase of Homes that has Johnson most excited about the upcoming 2017 showcase, "The big win this year is the price range we have in homes. We have homes that will fit the price range of the first time buyer, the baby boomer looking for a mid-range retirement home, or the person who is looking for the palatial estate, and everything in between. There is something for everyone."
The 2017 CCCIA Builders' Showcase of Homes begins Friday, January 20 and will continue through Sunday, January 22. The event will then continue January 27 through January 29, and conclude February 3 through February 5. The models will be open to visitors from 10:00am to 5:00pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays.
