It feels like 100 degrees out and afternoon rain showers have become the norm.

For many that means the middle of summer. For Cape Coral, it’s Christmas. At least that is what it will be for the next week, beginning this weekend.

Starting tonight, Cape Coral is set to celebrate Christmas in July with a few events going on around the city.

First, Dixie Roadhouse will put their spin on the holiday with the help of the Jägermeister Girls.

The popular nightclub will host its Christmas in July tonight with a number of festive activities including a visit from Santa Claus himself, who will be on hand taking pictures with those in attendance.

In addition to a rare summer appearance from Santa, the party will also include; a Sexiest Santa’s Helper contest, “Power Hour” drink specials for everyone between 10pm and 11pm, learn to line dance to Christmas classics with line dance lessons at 7:30pm, 8:30pm, and 11:30pm. There will also be opportunities to win $100,000 in cash and prizes throughout the evening.

If that weren’t enough, the Jägermeister Girls will be at the nightclub between 10pm and 12am with a number of prizes and giveaways.

When asked what brought on the sudden burst of the yuletide spirit, Dixie Roadhouse General Partner Lynn Pippenger said, “We always like to bring different themes to change things up. It is something different and fun for everyone to enjoy.”

Doors will be open for the event at 6pm this evening. You must be 21 years of age or older to attend. For more information about Christmas in July at the Dixie Roadhouse, click here.

At the same time Dixie kicks off the holiday season, Cape Coral’s Sun Splash Waterpark will be launching their own Christmas in July festivities.

The waterpark is hosting its first Christmas in July celebration beginning July 25 and will go through July 31, for a week of holiday fun.

During the week, the park will be filled with holiday decorations, music, specialty items, visits from Santa Claus, and the opportunity to win great prizes, “Since the water park is closed during the winter months, we thought it would be fun to deck out the park in holiday décor, invite Santa Claus to visit and give away some terrific prizes during a weeklong Christmas in July celebration,” Waterpark Manager Sandra Greiner said in an email.

To start the week’s festivities off on the right foot, the park will host its popular “Aqua Theatre Night” tonight from 6pm to 10pm.

The event will feature the movie “Cloud 9” on a giant inflatable movie screen at dusk.

Aqua Theatre Night provides a unique chance for people to enjoy Sun Splash Waterpark during the evening hours.

For those interested in attending “Aqua Theatre Night”, tickets are $8 for Cape Coral residents, $10 for non-residents, and $5 for same day park guests. Sun Splash season pass holders are admitted for free.
