Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve's picture

Located on 365 acres just north of Veteran’s Memorial Parkway, the Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve is the second largest preserved green space in Cape Coral. The preserve is a brackish water wetland that offers a 6,600’ walking trail, where visitors can walk through the preserve along the boardwalk trail and see nature in the “raw” including birds, raccoons, snakes and many other species of wildlife. Visitors can also get a “bird’s eye” view of the preserve from the two observation towers located in the park.

The preserve also has a visitor center and a Veterans Memorial area that is located on the southside of the park, which includes several memorials that recognize and honor those U.S. military service men and women who have served our country.

The preserve also offers seasonal kayaking rentals. With 800 feet of portage along the kayak trail, the kayaking at the preserve is not for beginners and children under six are not permitted in kayaks.

Being a nature preserve, dogs are not permitted on the walking trails and jogging, skateboarding, biking, skating or rollerblading is also prohibited. The walking trails and Veterans Memorial Area are open year-round. The Kayak shack is open weekends 8am to 4pm from October to May.
