2nd annual Special Pops Snowman Shuffle set for January 12
The Guardian Angels for Special Populations will bring in the new year with its annual Snowman Shuffle Fun Walk.
In its second year, the event is looking for walkers, teams and sponsors to help raise money for the Special Populations programs for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities.
Last year, the inaugural event, brought in over $5,000 in pledges and was attended by nearly 100 people, far exceeding organizers expectations.
This year organizers have added a “doggie stroll” to the event. People are encouraged to bring their canines out and support the cause!
The walk is only about a mile, and a shortened route will be available for persons with physical limitations.
Participants can walk, use a wheelchair, and/or push their children in strollers.
Walkers who raise a minimum of $20 will receive an official Snowman Shuffle tee-shirt, goody bag and continental breakfast. Dogs who raise a minimum of $10 will receive an official Special Pops bandana and a continental doggie breakfast.
There will be prizes awarded to the most money collected by individual, team, and dog!
The second annual Snowman Shuffle Fun Walk and Doggie Stroll is scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2013. It will take place at Sun Splash Family Waterpark, located at 400 Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coral.
Registration begins at 8:00am and the one-mile walk begins at 9:15am.
