Membrane replacement at RO plant saves over $100K

The new membranes were installed in 2010 and have reduced energy consumption by $88,545 per year, the City’s largest energy reduction project. In addition to the energy savings, the City saved about $33,600 in labor costs by using in-house staff rather than an outside contractor to load and install the membranes.

Upgraded bond ratings expected to save Cape Coral millions

The Water and Sewer bonds went from a “BBB+” with a positive outlook to an “A-“ with a stable outlook. The Special Assessment bonds were upgraded from a “BBB-“ with a positive outlook to a “BBB” with a stable outlook. These improved bond ratings could save the City more than $750,000 in interest costs annually on an upcoming bond issue.
