Cape Coral Mayor Marni Sawicki has announced that she will not be seeking a second term as mayor.

Sawicki made the announcement via Facebook late Monday afternoon shortly before she presided over the council meeting held at city hall.

On the Agenda: Cape Coral City Council Meeting Preview (Mar. 20)

The city council will hold its second of two March regular meetings this afternoon.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 4:30pm in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 1015 Cultural Park Blvd., Cape Coral. The meeting is open to the public.

Mayor Sawicki to host monthly 'Night Out' town hall event Mar. 15

Mayor Marni Sawicki will host her monthly “Mayor’s Night Out” on Wednesday, March 15.

The event will be held at Chester Street Resource Center. 

Mayor Sawicki will be available to discuss city issues with citizens from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The public is invited to stop by and share their thoughts and ideas with the mayor. 

Chester Street Resource Center is located at 4816 Chester Street.
