Cape Coral Police conduct DUI saturation patrol

The operation was part of the National Highway Traffic Safety’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. The campaign is a national initiative to curb drunk driving.

The department said this year their goal is to stress safety and awareness on local roads.

Cape Coral Police to participate in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day this Saturday

More than 5,100 sites nationwide have joined the effort that seeks to prevent pill abuse and theft. This free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Government, community, public health and law enforcement partners at these sites will be working together to collect expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs that are potentially dangerous if left in the family’s medicine cabinet.

'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ Campaign this weekend in Cape Coral

Officers are stressing safety and awareness for the upcoming Halloween Holiday week.

Cape Coral Police will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol on Thursday night to crackdown on impaired drivers. However the Special Operations Bureau Commander is more interested in roadway safety than arrest numbers.
